Treat Yourself to a Retreat!
It’s January. That is an excellent month for a retreat. You’re starting the year off by honoring your inner self. What’s better than that?
What does a retreat mean?
It means checking out of the day-to-day. It means stepping out of the sticky-footed habits that keep you under the umbrella of all that you don’t like about yourself, your job, and your life. Or it can be stepping into a new you. It’s a means to achieve a fresh approach to your life and the people around you.
What kind of retreat do you do?
You can go on any kind that suits your fancy. For instance, I put Yoga and Writing Retreats in the search box, and voilà — I found several. Maybe a gazillion or two.
How long?
Again, your research will help you decide. Three days? A week? a month? A weekend? Even overnight might help!
How much time can you “afford” away from the family, work, and everything else? How much can you afford in airfare, lodging, food, etc.?
Sometimes, the bigger question is, how can you afford not to go?
Maybe this is the time when you’re hanging on by a fingernail. Maybe even a hangnail. Then it’s definitely something to afford. Maybe it’s a trip to the local library for two hours. That counts. :)
